Students that struggle in reading, struggle in understanding the information that is present before them, if a student can not understand the information that is set before them, a student can not critically think about the information presented. Which means they have a difficult time asking questions and making connections to the context of the information, thereby stifling their ability to ask meaningful questions, understand open ended questions, efficiently write papers, provide evidence to claims and provide reasoning for their position.
